Baby Photography Dallas * Hi there!! I had the sweetest baby girl in the studio, baby Winnie! She loved me for a few sets, and then she was absolutely done, lol. We photographed her with her mom, dad, and older sister! She slept so well through that part. She was swaddled all snuggly and held by her parents. Once I started posing her on her own, she wasn’t a fan, lol! I wouldn’t either if someone was messing with me while I sleep.

Handling a newborn baby during a photo session (or anytime, really) is mostly about recreating the calm, cozy environment they’re used to. Babies at that stage don’t respond to “entertainment”—they respond to comfort and rhythm.
We made sure sweet Winnie had a full belly and a clean diaper to begin her newborn photo session. A recently fed baby is naturally sleepier and more relaxed, which makes everything easier.
Temperature matters more than people expect. Newborns like it warm—warmer than what feels comfortable for adults. A slightly warm room helps them stay sleepy, especially if they’re being gently posed or unwrapped. We had studio at 75-80 degrees, to keep baby Winnie happy and warm.
I took my time posing baby Winnie with patience and Calmness. Newborn sessions take time because babies set the pace. If you try to rush, it usually backfires. Plan for breaks, feeding, and soothing as part of the process—not interruptions. Winnies session ended up turning out so cute! I couldn’t be happier with the photos I delivered to her sweet family!
