Dallas TX Newborn Photos *. June was such a wonderful baby at her photo session! I mean look at that gorgeous full head of hair, she is just beyond cute!!! Her sweet mom wanted to see neutrals and creams in her images. So that’s what we did. I usually ask parents what colors they would like to see at their session and build sets based on the colors parents select. To be honest, I do that for myself too, lol!! I have way too many props and it’s just hard to choose! That is why I need parents to help.

We photographed June’s newborn pictures when she was 12 days old. I get this question all the time… When is the best time to book a newborn session?

The BEST time for newborn photos is…

The best time for a newborn session is between 6 to 14 days after birth. At this time, the baby is still sleepy and easy to pose. They don’t have strong muscle control and they don’t mind much if you are posing them. If you would like lots of poses on a bean bag and prop poses I would say the first three weeks are perfect for that.

The older the baby gets the more alert they are. You can still get precious shots, but you will have to work harder to settle the baby and try to put them to sleep in between poses. If they are not sleeping you won’t be able to pose them in a bucket or on a bed, due to their safety.

Ultimately, the best time for your newborn session is up to you. There is no right or wrong answer. Just choose a time that works best for you and your family.
